Who we are
The team at DSM regularly produce items including:
Bearings, boat and marine parts, bushes, conveyor components, displays, electrical and heat resistance wear parts, fittings, gears, machine guards, machined parts, pipe repair clamps, rollers, safety guards, sheaves, wear pads, wear parts, welded parts, wheels and cogs.
We also can design and inhouse manufacture automated units and take pride in our work from start to finish.
EXPERIENCE
DSM has a lot of experience under its belt.
Our managinf Director, David, has multiple degrees in engineering and can come up with a solution to most problems. David has captained DSM succesfully for 20+ years!
The rest of our staff also have different strengths and interests which allow us to think and work collaboratively on projects while having fun doing it!

OUR TEAM
Behind every successful project is an experienced team
We are a small, close-knit team with highly specialised skills. See for yourself!
ANDREW COOK
Fitting and Machining Apprentice
Andrew is our first year apprentice and is a ball of energy in the DSM workshop. You can often hear his loud happy voice before you can see him. When it comes down to it, he is willing to learn and put in the miles to get things done!
DAVID MILLER
Managing Director
David (or DM as we call him) has a knack for solving engineering problems with out-of-the box solutions, passion for clever ideas, and the skills to turn those ideas into real products. He has extensive experience in the medical industry, having completed research and development for a number of successful medical products.
JOSH ERRINGTON
Mechanical Engineer and Workshop Manager
Josh is one of our unusual staff members (although we all are to some extent). Josh is a qualified engineer and machinist, and he also holds a PhD in archaeology. Yes - that's right - a PhD! Josh loves to work in various areas of DSM, and is most at home in the workshop, in the office writing technical reports, or on site helping solve a problem for a client.
MICHAEL WHITE
Mechatronic Engineer
Michael looks after the mechanical design side of a lot of our machines, as well as the design and drawing aspects of our projects. Michael has the necessary experience in both hydraulics and robotics. In his spare time Michael is into building his own fancy robots.
DAVID STAER
Developer/IT Support
Known as D3 around here, he is the guy we call on when the internet, software, or phone system is down. He provides IT support to DSM and specialises in the programming aspect of our engineering projects, although we are gradually converting him into an all-round engineer.
CAMERON GOFF
Engineer Associate
Cameron has multiple degrees in engineering and has been a huge benefit to our team. His positivity and can do attitude bring a lot to DSM!
ROBERT LEWIS
Engineer Associate
Robert is in his 4th year of a double degree of mechatronic engineering and computer science. He has a keen interest and is heavily invloved in combat robots. From building, to mentoring to organising events, Robert is an all rounder and has even had international competition success!
Of course, none of this would happen without our admin staff
Our friendly admin staff are here to help you!
IRENA SULEK
Administration
Irena is the first face you see when you come to DSM and is often the first voice heard when calling. Although her name is difficult to remember, her presence is unforgettable! Irena is the constant and life stream of DSM and is always happy to help.
RACHEL MANSFIELD
Accounts Administration
Rachel works part-time in our administration department, trying to keep everything running as smoothly as possible. She also has a PhD (in ancient coins), so discussions at smoko can get very niche!
